Astonishing Love

Verse

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

See what kind of love! John is in awe. The fact that we are called children of God, and actually are, is astounding. God's love is extravagant, not taken for granted.

Truth & Application

Truth: God's love deserves awe. Being a child of God is not something to take for granted. It is the result of boundless love.

Today practically: Marvel at God's love today. Let familiarity give way to wonder.

Father, what kind of love! That I may be called your child. Today I marvel. I let go of taking it for granted. Holy Spirit, renew my wonder. Amen.
