Ephesians 1:13
Sonship and nearness
Verse
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
Thought
In him you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. Sealed, that word is strong. It means: marked, secured, confirmed. Like a seal on a document: genuine, valid, untouchable.
You are not "kind of included." You are sealed. God's Spirit in you is the proof that you belong. Not your performance, not your feeling, his seal.
If distance feels normal, that comes from old habits, not from reality. God's Spirit in you says: You belong here. Nearness is your normal state.
Truth & Application
Truth: You are sealed with the Holy Spirit. That is God's confirmation that you belong. No person, no feeling, and no situation can break this seal.
Today practically: If doubt comes today about whether you really belong, remember the seal. God's Spirit in you is the proof. Accept the nearness.
Question for you: Where do you doubt your belonging even though the seal has long been in place?
Prayer
Father, thank you for sealing me. Thank you that your Spirit in me is the proof that I belong to you. Today I consciously accept this belonging. I release doubt and feelings of distance. Holy Spirit, confirm today in my heart what God has already done. Amen.
