Prayer of Surrender

Original Prayer

Father, I give you this day and myself.

I entrust to you my thoughts, words and steps.

Lead me in your will and keep me in your grace.

Thank you that you walk every step of this day with me.

Amen.

Context (Old Covenant)

Modern prayer of dedication. New Covenant orientation: surrender as response to grace, not as performance.

What it teaches

Clarity; decision; repentance; trust in Christ.

Realization in the New Covenant

Surrender in the New Covenant is not giving up yourself, but aligning with the one who lives in you:

  • You are not a servant surrendering, you are a child trusting the Father (Gal 4:6-7)
  • "I give you myself", In Christ you already belong to the Father (1Cor 6:19-20)
  • Surrender is a response to love, not a religious act
  • The Holy Spirit guides you, you let yourself be led instead of straining (Rom 8:14)

Prayer in the New Covenant

Father, thank you that I belong to you. I align myself with you, not from duty but from love. Guide me through your Spirit. I entrust my day, my thoughts, and my steps to you. Amen.
