Daily Encouragement

One Bible verse a day with a short thought. Truth within the New Covenant.

Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ."

Thoughts within the New Covenant

Paul makes something massive clear here: No person becomes righteous before God by keeping rules. The Law could show what was missing, but it could never close the gap. Christ did that. Your faith in him is the gateway to a standing you could never have earned.

Maybe you sometimes feel the urge to earn God's approval through performance. But the New Covenant says: You are already accepted. Not because you do everything right, but because Christ did everything right.

Let that sink deep into your thinking today. You can stop proving yourself. Your standing is secure.

Truth & Application

Truth: Righteousness is not the result of your effort but a gift of faith. Paul himself gave up everything that made him righteous under the Law to be found in Christ.

Today practically: If you feel today like you haven't done enough, remember: Your standing before God doesn't depend on your performance but on Christ.

Question for you: In what area are you still trying to earn acceptance?

Prayer

Father, thank you that my righteousness doesn't depend on my works. Thank you that Christ fulfilled the Law and I am accepted through faith. Today I lay down the pressure to perform and rest in what you have already accomplished. Holy Spirit, remind me when I start trying to earn acceptance again. Amen.
