Romans 5:8
Clarity in Thinking
Verse
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Thought
God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. This is perhaps the clearest proof that God's love does not depend on your condition.
He did not wait until you improved. He did not wait until you were ready. He came when you were furthest away. This is the clarity your thinking needs: conditional love is human. Unconditional love is divine.
When thoughts say today: you need to be better first, answer: He came when I was at my worst. His timing proves his love.
Truth & Application
Truth: God's love does not wait for your improvement. It came to you when you were furthest away. This proves: his heart for you is unconditional and not tied to your performance.
Practical today: When the thought comes that you need to be better first, remember: Christ died while I was still a sinner. Then think forward from there.
Question for you: What condition do you place on yourself that God never placed?
Prayer
Father, thank you for not waiting until I was ready. You came when I was furthest away. Today I receive your unconditional love as the basis of my thinking. I release conditions I place on myself. Holy Spirit, clarify my thinking today with this truth. Amen.
