Ephesians 3:17-19
Sonship and Closeness
Verse
So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of Christ.
Thought
That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may comprehend the love of Christ. Paul prays for deep rootedness. Not superficial but rooted. In love.
Sonship shows itself in rootedness. You are not just a child, you are rooted and grounded. The love of Christ is your soil, your stability, your home.
Today: you are rooted in love. That gives you stability when everything else shakes.
Truth & Application
Truth: Christ dwells in your heart through faith. You are rooted and grounded in love. This rootedness gives you stability that does not depend on circumstances.
Practical today: When something shakes today, remember: I am rooted in love. My foundation stands. Then respond from this stability.
Question for you: Where do you feel uprooted even though you are grounded in love?
Prayer
Father, thank you that Christ dwells in my heart. I am rooted and grounded in love. Today I stand firm on this foundation. I release uprootedness and insecurity. Holy Spirit, deepen my roots in the love of Christ. Amen.
