Colossians 1:22
New identity
Verse
He has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him.
Thought
He has reconciled you by his death to present you holy, blameless, and above reproach. That is God's view of you, now, in Christ.
This is not what you should become. It is what you are. Reconciliation happened through his death, not your effort.
When the past gets loud, remember: That was the old version. In Christ you are new. God's verdict: above reproach.
Truth & Application
Truth: God sees you holy, blameless, above reproach, because Christ reconciled you. Your identity is his work.
Today practically: When the past gets loud, answer: That is no longer me. Make a decision from your new identity.
Question for you: Which old label is no longer true in Christ?
Prayer
Father, thank you for seeing me above reproach. Reconciliation through Christ is complete. Today I accept your view. I release old descriptions. Amen.
