Already His Child
Verse
We are already Gods children; what we will be has not yet been made known.
Thought
We are already Gods children; what we will be has not yet been made known. John holds two things simultaneously: You ARE Gods child, now. And more is still coming.
Your standing is already clear. You do not need to wait until everything is perfect. The future brings revelation, but your identity stands now. You are not a candidate, you are a son, a daughter.
Today you can live from this present reality while trusting for what is to come.
Truth & Application
Truth: You are NOW Gods child. Not someday, not when you have grown enough. Your identity as a son or daughter is present, not future. What is still to come will reveal what you already are.
Today practically: Say to yourself today: I am now Gods child. Do not let it become a cliche but a truth that carries you.
Question for you: Where are you still treating yourself as a candidate instead of a child of God?
Prayer
Father, thank you that I am your child now. Not tomorrow, not in heaven, now. Today I live from this identity. I release uncertainty about my belonging. Holy Spirit, make my sonship real to me today. Amen.
