Hebrews 8:12

Rest and Trust

Verse

For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.

Thought

I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more. God speaks here about the New Covenant and makes a final promise: he no longer thinks about your sins. Not because he is forgetful, but because he has decided so.

This is the foundation for true rest: if God himself no longer has your sins on his radar, why should you keep replaying them? What is done is done.

Today you may live in this rest. Not carelessly, but freed. God looks forward with you, not back at your failures.

Truth & Application

Truth: God remembers your sins no more. This is his conscious decision in the New Covenant. If he no longer looks back, you may stop doing so as well.

Practical today: When an old sin surfaces in your thoughts today, say: God remembers it no more. Neither will I. Then turn toward what lies ahead.

Question for you: Which past sin are you still holding onto even though God has long released it?

Prayer

Father, thank you for no longer remembering my sins. What you have released, I release today as well. I receive rest for my conscience and peace for my thoughts. Holy Spirit, thank you that I look forward instead of backward. Amen.
