Thoughts within the New Covenant
There is a new law at work in you: the law of the Spirit of life. This law has set you free from the law of sin and death. The old system has no claim on you anymore.
Sin in the New Covenant is not a checklist of deeds you must avoid. Sin was separation from God, a chasm you could not bridge. Christ closed that chasm. In him you are on the other side, and the law of life now carries you.
Today you no longer live under the old system. You live in the Spirit who creates life.
Truth & Application
Truth: The law of the Spirit has freed you from a system that could only accuse and condemn you. You now live in a new sphere of influence: that of life in Christ.
Today practically: When old accusations or condemnations surface, remember: You live under a new law, that of life and freedom.
Question for you: Where are you still reacting according to the old system's rules, even though you live in the new one?
Prayer
Father, thank you that the law of the Spirit has set me free. Thank you that sin and death have no claim on me anymore. Today I live consciously in this freedom. I let go of the voices of the old system. Holy Spirit, remind me that I stand under the law of life. Amen.
