One Bible verse a day with a short thought. Truth within the New Covenant.

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace."

Thoughts within the New Covenant

Those who want to be justified by the Law have been severed from Christ and have fallen from grace. These are strong words from Paul. But they show what is at stake: You cannot build on grace and the Law at the same time. It is one or the other.

Falling from grace doesn't mean losing salvation. It means leaving the sphere of grace and going back to the old system. A system that can only condemn you.

Today: Stay in grace. That is where life is, where freedom is, where Christ is.

Truth & Application

Truth: Grace and Law are two different systems. You cannot live in both simultaneously. Returning to the Law means leaving the sphere of grace. Stay with Christ, stay in grace.

Today practically: Check: Where are you trying to score points with God through rule-keeping? Recognize it and consciously return to grace.

Question for you: Are you building on grace or trying to mix Law and grace?

Prayer

Father, thank you that I live in grace and not under the Law. Today I consciously remain in that space. I let go of religious performance and legalism. Holy Spirit, keep me from trading grace for the Law. Amen.
