Thoughts within the New Covenant
He is our peace. Not: He gives us peace as an extra. He IS the peace. This means: Where Christ is, there is peace. And Christ is in you. So you already carry peace within you, even if your surroundings are turbulent.
Paul also speaks here about the wall between Jews and Gentiles that Christ tore down. Separation, hostility, categories, Christ broke through them. In the New Covenant there is one people, united in him.
Today: Peace is not far away. It lives in you because Christ lives in you.
Truth & Application
Truth: Peace is not something you have to work for. Christ himself is your peace. Where he dwells, there is peace, and he dwells in you.
Today practically: When unrest comes, pause and remember: Peace already lives in me because Christ lives in me. Breathe and let the peace rise.
Question for you: Are you searching for peace outside when it already dwells within you?
Prayer
Father, thank you that Christ is my peace. He is not far; he lives in me. Today I consciously receive this peace. I let go of unrest and inner turmoil. Holy Spirit, let Christ's peace rule in me today. Amen.
